EFFECT OF GLUTATHIONE ON MDA (Malondyaldehyde) PLASMA AND SOD (Superoxyde Dysmutase) ERYTHROCYTE ON WHITE RAT ( RATTUS NORVEGICUS ) THAT EXPOSED PARACETAMOL

Abstract


ABSTRACT

Glutathione have a role in the neutralization of free radicals and reactive oxygen compounds, as well as maintaining exogenous antioxidants. Indicators to show paracetamol side effects include increased transaminase enzymes in plasma, the increase of free radicals is shown by the increase in MDA (Malondyaldehide) and decreased SOD (Superoxyde Dysmutase). The aim of the study the effect external glutathione decreased the side effect of Paracetamol (PCT) on liver. This study used four groups for each treatment : the first group (only given food standards); The second group (fed standard plus PCT); The third group (fed standard plus PCT and GSH dose of 600 mg / kg); The fourth group (fed standard plus PCT and GSH dose of 1200 mg / kg). GSH can reduced MDA plasma (p=0,004), while in the measurement of sod plasma there is no differences.  

 

ABSTRAK

Glutation berperanan dalam netralisasi radikal bebas dan senyawa oksigen reaktif, serta mempertahankan antioksidan eksogen. Indikator untuk menunjukkan efek samping parasetamol tersebut antara lain enzim transaminase yang meningkat di plasma darah, peningkatan radikal bebas ditunjukkan dengan kenaikan MDA (Malondyaldehide) dan penurunan SOD (Superoxyde Dysmutase). Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh efek glutation eksternal untuk menurunkan efek Parasetamol (PCT) dalam liver. Tikus dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok: kelompok pertama (hanya diberi makanan standart); Kelompok kedua (diberi makanan standart ditambah PCT); kelompok ketiga (diberi makanan standart ditambah PCT dan GSH dosis 600 mg/kg BB); Kelompok keempat (diberi makanan standart ditambah PCT dan GSH dosis 1200 mg/kgBB). Pemberian GSH menurunkan MDA plasma (p=0,004), sedangkan pada pengukuran SOD plasma tidak ada perubahan.
